I dug out of my collection a CD I had forgotten about. It's Red Rodney's "Then&Now"
I had forgotten what a innovative player Red was! I first heard him years ago doing "The Man I Love" from Philly with the Eliott Lawrence band. Bop was in it's infancy and "Red" was "getting" his playing legs.I recall a quote from "Bird" calling "Red" a "fleet" player........... Was'nt a household name but Robert "Red" Rodney was a player!
