[TPIN] That 10,000 Clam Thing

Wilmer,
It's one of those tpin threads that has run off in several 
directions at once.  I believe it started out with the 
notion of 10000 hours of practice are required to properly 
ascertain one's talent level.  Then someone mentioned as a 
jazzer you are going to have to get through a period of 
sounding really bad before you sound good, which according 
to legend even Charlie Parker went through.

But I agree with you, at a certain point you have to hear 
it and understand it before you can play it.
