Vaughn Nark...No doubt. We must note him!

Another nice cat, too...

(Yup... "not quite" coal-crackers were my words... those guys in the L.H. work with the stuff we send down the river to make that steel...)

But whilst we're on the coal-cracker bent: Don't forget Vaughn Nark (Mt. Carmel - a couple towns over from my crib)...

By the way, also for the record, Lehigh Valleyites are not coal crackers...We're STEEL people..or at least, they WERE steep people!

The coal crackers put out some players, too...
THe first ont that comes to mind is my old buddy Jeff Corazzo...the bass bone of the army blues. He's wonderful...super tuba player, too. Man, did we do some coal cracking gigs in the day! lol

Wilson High had a very fine music program, from what I recall. They always had very good representation and District, Regional and State band and orchestra competitions in Pennsylvania (PMEA) back in my day. Little wonder they produced some first rate players - and let's face it... you can't live in that part of PA without having a good sense of humor. They don't quite pass as "coal crackers"... but it's not too far off. (!)

Jeff cracks me up! It's hard to believe a guy with such a crazy sense of humor is the associate principal of the Philadelphia Orchestra. I'm sure you all know that his uncle is the great Bob Curnow.

Bob And Jeff are from my home town...Easton, PA.

Jeff's father, Bill, was the band director at Wilson High School for many, many years.

What a musical family!
